[Seasonal Life Tips / What is a "Kairan-ban"?]
A “kairan-ban” is a file containing necessary information for local residents.
Contents include information about crime prevention, disaster prevention, festivals, bazaars and other community events.
After you have read the information, sign or put your seal where your name is and pass the “kairan-ban” on to the next neighbor as quickly as possible.

[Ask a Foreigner: What I like about Nara living / A quiet but not lonely town]
My favorite place is Nara Park.
It is big and beautiful, and very well kept clean with no garbage or dangerous things left lying around.
I get up at six every morning and take a walk through the park as far as Ukimido and return home, but before doing so, I browse through a newspaper.
It’s so comfortable I often take a walk through the park barefoot.
I come from Jakarta, a large metropolis where there are always lots of people and constant bustling noise, but for some reason I felt lonely there.
But it’s different in here.
After coming to Nara, I realized that even if it is quiet and there are no people around, I don’t feel lonely.
