[Seasonal Life Tips / Making smart use of bargain sales]
In Japan, every year in January, many retail stores start bargain sales at the same time.
Since the latest products that had been on store shelves prior to the bargain sales are sold at discount prices, it is a good bargain for buyers.
If you wait until February, prices of some products are cut by half when the new season begins.
It will be a good deal, if the item you want to buy is still in the stores.

[Ask a Foreigner: What I like about Nara living / A city where you can feel history]
What I like best about Nara is you can feel history around you.
In most cities, you have to go to a historical museum if you want to see valuable old buildings and everyday utensils, but in Nara, they can be seen in plenty here and there throughout the city.
One of the great charms is the lifestyle of the people of the old Nara capital which prospered from the 700s A.D.
I also love to look at clothes and fashion of ancient times, so I am happy because there are many events introducing these.
