[Seasonal Life Tips / Check how to put out your garbage with your neighbors or local government office]

Recyclables and garbage are collected according to their type. How garbage is separated differs depending on the city, town or village. Please check the information available at the local government office, etc. on how garbage is put out in your new district when you visit the office to complete removal procedures.

[Ask a Foreigner: What I like about Nara living / Old Yagyu Kaido (Takisaka no Michi)]

I’m an overseas student from Guangzhou, Guangdong in China. There’s a place in Nara I am fond of. It is the old Yagyu Kaido (Takisaka no Michi). It’s about a 10~15-minute walk from my dormitory. I take a walk there almost every morning. This path runs between Kasuga-yama and Takamado-yama. After climbing the path a little you come to a small hill. The view of Nara city from here is beautiful and it is one of my favorite spots. Having birds and small mountain animals nearby makes it even more alluring. There is very little nature where I live in Guangzhou, so I think it is wonderful to have nature near where one lives.
