Choice of High School

Among Japanese high schools are schools with regular courses which focus on Japanese, Mathematics, English, etc.

There are also special courses that teach these subjects as well as special subjects in commercial courses, technical courses and music courses, etc.

There are also schools that have courses at different times of the day, such as full-time day courses, night courses, and schools offering morning, afternoon or evening courses, as well as correspondence courses.

Some high schools give special consideration to foreign students who have entered a Japanese school after fourth grade with regard to subjects and content of school entrance examinations.

High schools are not part of compulsory education therefore tuition fees, the cost of textbooks and other expenses must be paid for by the student's guardians.

When choosing a high school, it is important to pay attention to not only the content but also the cost involved.
